Directions to the Makusue Ski Club.
Take Rte. 95 North. There will be a toll at Hampton. ($2.00) When you get to NH, take Exit 4- Rte 16, Spaulding Turnpike. It's a left exit. There will be two tolls on this road- 75 cents each. You are going to be on this road for about 77 miles (about 1.5 hours). After about 75 miles, as you approach the Conway area, you are going to pass the intersection of Rte 112-The Kancamagus Highway. Go past that for about a mile and you will come to an intersection where you can take a left to continue on Rte 16 or you can go straight onto Rte 113 East.
There are 2 ways you can go from here. The first way will take you through town and will take a few minutes longer and you will probably hit some traffic. If you need to pick anything up at a store or need to eat, you should go this way or you can go back out later. The second way is the back way. It’s faster and there is no traffic.
After this point, you should obey the posted speed limits. They are strictly enforced in North Conway.
#1- Go this way if you need to shop or eat.
Follow Route 16 as it turns left to North Conway. There will be a train depot on the left with a bunch of shops on both sides of the street. Follow Route 16 and you’ll go through approximately 4 sets of lights. Light landmarks are Bank of NH, Hannaford, TJ Maxx, and Staples. At the fifth light you will turn right onto Kearsarge St. There is a sign that says “To Mount Cranmore”.
Follow Kearsarge to the top of the hill and take a left. This is still Kearsarge. About 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile, there will be three ski clubs with signs out in front. You will see the Ski Bees first. They are a red house with a SKI BEES sign out front. We are right after them. The Makusue Ski Club. Take a left into the parking lot and we are the blue house that is set back. Park anywhere.
#2-The Back way around
Don't take a left onto Route 16 to go to N. Conway, but keep going straight on Route 113 East. Follow until you come to the intersection of Rte 302 and take a left. Follow this road to the next set of lights. You will come up to a Wal-Mart on the right. There will be a sign that says "Mall". Take a right. This is North-South Road. Follow this road until you come to the very end. The railroad track will be on your right most of the way. There will be a stop sign, take a right onto Kearsarge St. Follow Kearsarge to the top of the hill and take a left. This is still Kearsarge.
